Resolve to Save Lives, A New Global Health Initiative

Priscilla Chan: The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is proud to support Resolve to Save Lives, a new global health initiative led by former CDC director Dr. Tom Frieden, to combat global epidemics and save millions of lives from cardiovascular disease.

As a pediatrician, I’ve seen serious health threats avoided because the right infrastructures were in place to quickly identify and respond to them. I’ve also seen the devastating effects when these systems are not in place — the 2014 Ebola epidemic is just one example. Without strong global health systems, millions of lives are at risk. Resolve is working to give countries the tools they need to identify emerging health threats, respond quickly, and prevent them from spreading.

To ensure that millions of people around the world have access to equal opportunity, we need to tackle the threat of epidemics — that’s why we’re supporting this effort. We’re excited to learn from Tom Frieden through this investment.
