  • Lipid-Based Transfection of Zebrafish Embryos: A Robust Protocol for Nucleic Acid Delivery in Zebrafish (bioRxiv)

We developed a novel approach for the efficient delivery of nucleic acids into zebrafish embryos by lipid-based transfection. Our protocol bypasses the need for microinjection, offering a cost-effective, highthroughput, and user-friendly alternative. This protocol outlines new strategies for gene delivery in zebrafish to enhance the efficiency and scope of genetic studies in this model system.

  • Mechanochemical symmetry breaking during morphogenesis of lateral-line sensory organs (Nature Physics)

  • Notch-mediated determination of hair-bundle polarity in mechanosensory hair cells of the zebrafish lateral line (Current Biology)

Sensory hair cells of the auditory, vestibular, and lateral-line systems are highly directional in their mechanical responsiveness. We demonstrate that the polarization of hair cells in the larval zebrafish is specified through Notch1a-mediated lateral inhibition between pairs of developing cells.

  • Connectomics of the zebrafish’s lateral-line neuromast reveals wiring and miswiring in a simple microcircuit (eLife)

  • Elastic force restricts growth of the murine utricle (eLife)

  • Reaction–diffusion model of hair-bundle morphogenesis (PNAS)
