Team
-
Akila Balasubramanian, Ph.D.
Scientist I
Akila is an expert in cell and molecular techniques in zebrafish. She is studying the unique regenerative capabilities of these organisms and uncovering the underlying mechanisms that drive tissue repair and regeneration. -
Jacqueline Fernandez
Research Associate I
Jacqueline is applying her background in molecular techniques to develop genetically modified zebrafish and improve methods for zebrafish transgenesis. -
Emilia Garcia-Bompadre
Research Associate II
Emilia is working with the zebrafish groups across Biohub to develop new methods to accelerate fish transgenesis and make new fish lines. -
Shloka Jaisingh
Research Associate I
-
Tiger Lao
Research Associate II
Besides being our aquaculture specialist, Tiger works on generating transgenic zebrafish lines with fluorescent tags of relevant signaling proteins. -
Yuening Liu, Ph.D.
Scientist II
Spatial transcriptomics -
Allyson Quinn Ryan, Ph.D.
Scientist I
Allyson has worked with African cichlid fish, zebrafish, and mice as model systems to study developmental biology questions. -
Zuben Scott, Ph.D.
Scientist I
-
Emma Spikol, Ph.D.
Scientist I
Emma loves zebrafish and specializes in gene editing techniques. She is working with the zebrafish groups across Biohub and helping to develop new tools for fish transgenesis and new transgenic lines. -
Katarina Westermark
Research Associate I
Katarina supports zebrafish research across the Jacobo Group and brings a background in cell and developmental biology, including work in the model organism Ciona robusta. She uses molecular techniques, transgenesis, and advanced imaging to investigate cell decision-making and tissue regeneration.
